Funny story about hell...

The following is an actual question given on a University chemistry final exam.

The answer by one student was so “profound” that the professor shared it with colleagues via the Internet, which is why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Question:

Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law that gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:
First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that, if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell.

Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell. Because Boyle’s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay constant, the volume of Hell must expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

  1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
  2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Sandra during my freshman year, that “it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,” and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is endothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is extinct…leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being - which explains why, last night, Sandra kept shouting “Oh God!”

Moving from Intention to Action...

My recent trip to Vienna in November gave me the opportunity to get inspired by a couple of very close friends. Their achievements and the way they have been shaping their dreams in the making were a slap in my laziness. Not only they hosted me and listened, but also invited me to be part of Solution, a conference with the theme that gave birth to this post, "moving from intention to action!".

I, very honored, accepted their invitation to be part of the conference team.

When I got back in Lisbon I couldn't help it but keep on thinking again and again in them, knowing that there was an underlying message between the lines... I was cracking my head trying to find it, but it was impossible... So I decided to give it a time and let it emerge.

And then, in front of me, appeared. "Moving from intention to action" I read in the mail I received, and I knew that it was talking to me, to ME!

It is time. I needed to start NOW!
How it is possible that I kept on finding excuses not to?
What was that that I was fearing/avoiding?
What is that that I want to start?
How alive is still my dream of the soul spa?

And questions kept on coming...

Today I can proudly say that Beautiful Individuals has come to life.

Check it out!

Or check the fan page in facebook and become a fan!

I know now what my role in Solution can be.

I have definitely moved from Intention to Action.

It will be awesome to see some of you in Vienna next year, apply!

Love tons,

Dey

PS: Thanks Hinnerk and Alexis, I truly love you.

All about a minute

As we grow up,

we learn that,
even the person that wasn't suppose to let you down,
probably will.

You will have your heart broken,
probably more than once and its harder every time.

You will break hearts too,
so remember how it felt when yours was broken.

You will fight with your best friend.
You will blame a new love for something the old one did.

You will cry because time is passing too fast,
and eventually lose someone you love...

So:
take too many pictures,
laugh too much,
and love like you've never been hurt,
because every sixty seconds you spend been upset,
is a minute of happiness you will never get back...

À ponta do lápis o traço.

Estou falando do nada.
Eu sou nada.

Eles me responderão.
Enfim terei uma resposta.
Que resposta?, a do amor.
Amor: eu vos amo tanto. Eu amo o amor.

Eu à beira do vento. O morro dos ventos uivantes me chama.
Vou, bruxa que sou. E me transmuto.

Estou dizendo amor.
E à beira do amor estamos nós.

Tristeza y decepcion....

Don't stay in touch...

Lily Allen - FUCK YOU

Look inside,
Look inside,
Your tiny mind.
Then look a bit harder,
cause we're so uninspired.
So sick and tired.
Of all
The hatred you harbor,

so you say
It's not okay to be gay,
Well I think
You're just evil.
You're just some racist.
Who can't tie my laces,
You're point of view
Is medevil.

Fuck you, fuck you
Very, very much.
Cause we hate
What you do
And we hate
Your whole crew
So please
Don't stay in touch,

Fuck you, fuck you
Very, very much
Cause your words
Don't translate
And it's getting
Quite late
So please
Don't stay in touch.

Do you get,
Do you get
A little kick out.
Of being small minded
You want to be
Like your father
His approval your after
Well that's not how
You'll find it

Do you
Do you really enjoy
Living a life
That's so hateful
Cause there's a hole
Where your soul
Should be
You're losing
Control of it
And it's really
Distasteful

Fuck you, fuck you
Very, very much
Cause we hate
What you do
And we hate
Your whole crew
So please
Don't stay in touch

Fuck you, fuck you
Very, very much
Cause your words
Don't translate
And it's getting
Quite late
So please
Don't stay in touch

Fuck you, fuck you
Fuck you, fuck you
Fuck you, fuck you

You say you think
we need to go to war
Well you're already in one
"Cause it's people like you
that need to get slew
No one wants your opinion

Fuck you, fuck you
Very, very much
Cause we hate
What you do
And we hate
Your whole crew
So please
Don't stay in touch

Fuck you, fuck you
Very, very much
Cause your words
Don't translate
And it's getting
Quite late
So please
Don't stay in touch

Fuck you, fuck you
Fuck you, fuck you
Fuck you, fuck you

Something to open your eyes

You need something to open up a new door
To show you something you seen before
But overlooked a hundred times or more

You need something to open your eyes
You need something to make it known
That it's you and no one else that owns
That spot that you're standing,
that space that you're sitting

That the world ain't got you beat
That it ain't got you licked

It can't get you crazy no matter how many
Times you might get kicked

You need something special all right
You need something special to give you hope
But hope's just a word
That maybe you said or maybe you heard
On some windy corner 'round a wide-angled curve

– Bob Dylan

True Love...

Zen Parable

Two brothers worked together on the family farm.
One was married and had a large family.

The other was single.
At the day's end, the brothers shared everything equally, produce and profit.

Then one day the single brother said to himself,
"It's not right that we should share equally the produce and the profit.
I'm alone and my needs are simple."
So each night he took a sack of grain from his bin and crept across the field between their houses, dumping it into his brother's bin.

Meanwhile, the married brother said to himself,
"It's not right that we should share the produce and the profit equally.
After all, I'm married and I have my wife and my children to look after me in years to come.
My brother has no one, and no one to take care of his future."
So each night he took a sack of grain and dumped it into his single brother's bin.

Both men were puzzled for years because their supply of grain never dwindled.
Then one dark night the two brothers bumped into each other.
Slowly it dawned on them what was happening.
They dropped their sacks and embraced one another.

How do you measure a year???

One friend of mine has this question posted as her facebook status:

"How do you measure a year?"

And the answer just poped up from my inner me...

By tears...

Tears of Fear
(if you are still here then you are courageous enough cos you have moved on)

Tears of Happiness
(I cannot conceive real happiness without tears, your soul needs to leave your body cos has become too big)

Tears of Sadness
(Those that tell you that you have given everything, even if things didn't go as you wanted, you are sure you were true to yourself and you grow)

By tears,
I will measure a year by the tears have shed...

Enjoy the song and think about the tears you have shed this year...

I am PROUDLY what I am!!!

Life's not worth a dam
Till I can say
I am what I am

I am what I am
I am my own special creation
So come take a look
Give me the hook
Or the ovation
It's my world
That I want to have a little pride
My world
And it's not a place I have to hide in
Life's not worth a dam
Till I can say
I am what I am

I am what I am
I don't want praise I don't want pity
I bang my own drum
Some think it's noise I think it's pretty
And so what if I love each sparkle and each bangle
Why not see things from a different angle
Your life is a shame
Till you can shout out I am what I am

I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses
I deal my own deck
Sometimes the aces sometimes the deuces
It's one life and there's no return and no deposit
One life so it's time to open up your closet
Life's not worth a dam till you can shout out
I am what I am

I am what I am

I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses
I deal my own deck sometimes the aces sometimes the deuces
It's one life and there's no return and no deposit
One life so it's time to open up your closet
Life's not worth a dam till you can shout out
I am what I am

I am I am I am good
I am I am I am strong
I am I am I am worthy
I am I am I belong

I am

I am

Who whoooo etc.
I am

I am I am I am useful
I am I am I am true
I am I am somebody
I am as good as you

Yes I am

My Way, Always My Way!

And now, the end is here
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and ev'ry highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!

Yes, it was my way

Hard Love

THESE ARE NOT MY WORDS...
NONE OF THEM...
BUT THEY COME FROM FRIENDS TALKING TO FRIENDS...
AND THEY FIT ME AS WELL...
THANKS FOR BEING SO BEAUTIFUL!!!...

Why do always the most beautiful souls find love so hard?
question asked - answer given

"Because they just LOVE in another way, like level up. They can sacrifice themselves but not Love principles. They call with the word Love only the Love itself and nothing else. They love because they do - not because they need to.
That is why."

I dunno if it is the wrong or the right answer
I just know that you were my saviour when I had lost hope
now it is my turn to be yours
and that what goes around really does come around.

I AM LETTING YOUR WORDS BE MINE TODAY...

Self Portrait in Greens

Long time since I didn't take some markers and let them flow freely while I think...

Part of my new responsibilities at work at connected with thinking. Processes of innovation and re-creation. Disruptive and peaceful at the same time.

Today I decided to dedicate one hour to that thinking processes, saw some markers on the table, grabbed a sheet and...

When I came back from my unconscious divagations, there I was, a picture of me. As I feel within, I guess.

Need to take some time to grasp the questions that arise from the PAINt.

It is lunch break now...

I am going to see the sea.

Our Beginning!!!

Rita Redshoes - The Beginning Song

You came to this world
to see what i've done
and it's fine
so come and let's start
i'll give you all my heart
this time

don't walk away
cause baby i will love you more
i have this feeling
you're who i've been looking for
so close your eyes and read the signs
it's time to soar

you came to this world
to change what i've done
it's alright
but now you must dare
you can't pretend you're there
if you're mine

don't walk away
cause baby i will love you more
i have this feeling
you're who i've been looking for
so close your eyes and read the signs
it's time to soar

don't walk away
cause baby i will love you more
i have this feeling
you're who i've been looking for
don't turn away it's time to stay
there's nothing more

Why don't you tell me what to do?

You want to drink my soul
'Till your heart is full
What happens when it's full and it splashes?
You've built all these rooftops
And painted them all in blue
If all this set just burns up will you paint the ashes?

Do you really want to see?
Because I'll let you in
With me

You shiver when the wind blows
Through doors that lost their keys
There's too little to rescue, too little to hang on to
I thought that maybe we could try to
Clear and rebuild this haunted home
I'll be glad to help you just tell me what to do

Why don't you tell me what to do?
Maybe you're scared too
I've been here before
Next thing you'll see
You'll fell
So small

I will disappoint you
And I don't care if I do
I belong to those who got shattered, battered,
Bruises and scars that I've hidden you could never heal
This grey house where I come from
Some great love will tear it down
If you no longer love me why should it matter?

Tell me why should it matter?
I can't ask you to stay
I can't find the words to say
Why don't you just leave?

Just leave.

Because YOU ARE HERE!

When the rain is blowing in your face,
and the whole world is on your case,
I could offer you a warm embrace
to make you feel my love.

When the evening shadows and the stars appear,
and there is no one there to dry your tears,
I could hold you for a million years
to make you feel my love.

I know you haven't made your mind up yet,
but I would never do you wrong.
I've known it from the moment that we met,
no doubt in my mind where you belong.

I'd go hungry; I'd go black and blue,
I'd go crawling down the avenue.
No, there's nothing that I wouldn't do
to make you feel my love.

The storms are raging on the rolling sea
and on the highway of regret.
Though winds of change are throwing wild and free,
you ain't seen nothing like me yet.

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true.
Nothing that I wouldn't do.
Go to the ends of the Earth for you,
to make you feel my love.
