I Will Not Pee 4 A Week!!!!

I just have received the 

BEST Christmas present EVER!!!
My sister sent it to me from Canada...

Apart from the sweetness of the card (that made me cry an ocean - I don't know if at this moment I have enough water in my body, I think I am not going to pee for a week or so...), she sent me a book...

It is a compilation of quotes and thoughts by Jim Henson, the creator of The Muppets, and compiled/edited by his daughter Cheryl.

The book is awesome, beautiful and GREEN!

The title is like that song from Kermit 

"It's Not Easy Being Green!"

The introduction of the book says:

"We chose to use it as the title of this book
[regarding using the song as the title of the book]
because its lyrics capture not only the feelings of Kermit the Frog but a universal message that it's okay to be different,
to embrace what makes you special,
and to be proud of it".

I so much love my sister...
What a better way to tell me so many things?

WARNING: "WE" does not exist without "I"...

Lately I have been witnessed how so many new "gurus" of leadership, social entrepreneurship, etc. keep on making this strong emphasis on the "we" as the most important element of any human and organizational process...

I assume that those people are making a point that is very valid under the premise that cannot exist WE without "I"...
However today I saw a slide show in which stated clearly the countdown from the 5 more important words in Leadership...

The 5 more important words...
The 4 more important...
The 3...
The 2...
And the MOST important word is....
WE

So far, cool...
After that, and out of the blue, in a slide that I not really understand why is there, I read:

"The least important word: I"

WTF!!???

I lost all interest for the opinions of whoever made the slide show...
Not because different opinions are not welcomed, but because of the fact that I think stating such things as truths can mislead people, mostly young people in search for answers and that trust what "gurus" have to say...

Unfortunately, we live in a stupid world where people are taught to listen and learn from "gurus", to believe what they say, and to follow the "book"... (whatever the book is, we are all surrounded by books that we are supposed to follow...)
Instead of living in a world where young people are encouraged to live and discover by themselves life and make their own conclusions...

Well, I am here not to state a truth, but MY truth, what I believe...
I believe there cannot be WE without I.
I believe the most important word in life is "I"...
I makes us take responsibility:

I made a mistake vs. They do not listen

I believe vs. This is the truth

I feel vs. People think/say/never... (looong etc here)

My use of I has freed me...

The absence of I in some parts of my life condemned me to sorrow and self-pity, excusing myself for everything by blaming the others...

Don't get me wrong, is not about isolating myself from the world, at the en of the day "I" is the result of my interactions with all the people that I have meet in my life, the ones that I loved, the ones that I disappointed, the ones that made me laugh, the ones that I cried for... All of them...

But I feel deep inside that is so dangerous to live in a world where we are being brainwashed about it, to believe that WE is more important than I...

I believe that:
WE is crucial for US as a community of life.
I is crucial for LIFE itself.

For Dey:
The most important word is "I"
The rest is secondary.
Because I love myself and accept who I am I can be part of the world, 

I can belong to WE.

I am not looking for a solution to my problems and a scape to my sorrow in the WE...

I am looking for a sense and feeling of community in the WE.

A community of very strong, determined and powerful Is.

Why Working On Our Strengths and Not On Our Weaknesses???!!!

Just came across a new post on my friend David Pollay's Blog that caught my attention...

While leading discovery conversations and talking about focusing on Strengths, people usually ask me why not to work on those things that we are not good at... It seems he is getting the same type of questions...

I have found several ways to explain the reasons why I find it more effective to work and focus on what we are good at; however David has mastered the usage of own tales from his family experiences...

Here is an excerpt from his post:

The other day one of you wrote to me and asked, “David, why should we focus on our strengths? We can do some more work on what we’re already good at, but why not just get right to our weaknesses?” Let me tell you about an experience I had with one of my daughters.

Making a bracelet

Last year, Eliana, who was 4 at the time, came into the kitchen with a big smile and a “rattling” box in her hands. She walked past me, climbed up on a stool, and dropped the box on the breakfast counter. I had barely enough time to read the box cover, “Jewelry Making Kit,” when Eliana said, “Papi, let’s make a bracelet.”

Eliana and I delicately strung beads on a bracelet wire. We used beads of all colors, beads with numbers, and we even spelled Eliana’s name. One hour later and our bracelet was complete.

Not a fit

There was just one problem. The bracelet did not fit Eliana’s wrist! I couldn’t believe it! After all that effort, it was too small!

I wouldn’t accept it; I had invested too much time to give up, and I didn’t want to disappoint Eliana. So I tried everything to make it work. I took off beads. I made the knots on the ends smaller. I tried to stretch the wire. And then finally, somehow I found a way to hook the bracelet, but just barely.

I was relieved until I heard a yell from the playroom five minutes later. I ran in to find Eliana, and Ariela, my then 3 year old, looking at the floor. Not only had the bracelet popped off, all the beads were now buried in our carpet!

Missing material

The bottom line was simple: The bracelet just didn’t fit. It didn’t matter what we did, there was not enough material to work with: We did not have enough wire to make the bracelet.

The same is true when we try to do great things in our lives by spending our energy focusing on our weaknesses: We get coached, we get trained, we get motivated, we get inspired, but there’s only so much we can do. Why? There’s just not enough material to work with; that’s a principal reason why they’re weaknesses.

COMPUTER >> Male Or Female??!!

A SPANISH Teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike
English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.

'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.'
'Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.'

A student asked, 

'What gender is computer?'

Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two
groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves
whether computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. 

Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the
feminine gender ('la computadora'), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;
   
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be
Masculine ('el computador'), because:

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;
   
2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;
   
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and
   
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

For years I avoided Mac...

But it followed me everywhere I went...

I was so scared of not catching up fast and get used to work in a new environment.

I am in a stage of my life in which I have decided to take the colors of my rainbow and paint my life, and the world around me, using only the green of hope, life and renaissance.

I have decided to take another bold step and speak out loud.

MADNESS OF MY MIND

If I gave you a white canvass, a paint brush and a palette
containing the primary colours, what kind of picture you would
create? 

I'll bet that everyone would paint something different.

Some of you would splash vibrant colours across the canvass, while
others would create pastel images invoking a feeling of serenity.

And if I had the fortune to be able to observe your finished
paintings, I would see pictures of outer space, cities, open
fields, vast oceans, families sitting around a table, children
playing in a park, animals climbing trees, older couples walking
hand in hand, snow capped mountains and much more.

I could literally give thousands upon thousands of people the exact
same supplies to paint with and yet each picture would be
different.

So then why are so many of us painting the same picture in our lives? 

We were all given a heart and we were all given a brain.

We were given lungs to breathe with, lips to talk with and hands to grab with. 

We were given the same supplies, but so many of us are painting similar pictures. 

Does everyone believe work should start at 9am? 

Does everyone believe that happiness comes with a sensible retirement plan? 

Does everyone believe that we only have one match when it comes to love? 

With all of the colours we've been given,
why are we painting pictures that look the same?

What if we turned around and told that person behind us who is trying to guide our hand that we can handle it from here? 

What would your picture look like then? 

I'll bet everyone would love it.

A Whole New World in Youtube!!!

Recently, and due to my new Blog/Vlog, I have discovered a whole new world in Youtube...

I have my account since February 2007... 

But I just happened to create a new one for the Vlogging...

With my old account, the only thing I used to do was to watch videos and rate them and so on...

But never really got into the Youtube world...

Apart from my new Vlog, Also the story of Ana Free inspired me to get more into it.

Now, I don't have an account, I know for sure that I have a channel.

I have started to meet people there that have awesome videos and they actually give you advise on yours, on how to edit them and so on...

If you are curious, just go there...

Search for videos you like and explore the channels of the people who post them.

However what I love the most are those channels were people actually Vlog and share...

I have been invited to participate in a contest [and I have just three days Vlogging]...

There are several channels by topics, this one I have been invited is a Gay Channel...

The main idea that is considered posh right now in the Youtube World is to have collaborative channels with 5 people, so each Vlogger post each day of the week.

I will love to be Wednesday Dude... 

I don't really know what it is with me and Wednesday... 

Maybe that I am the sibling in the middle?

Just wanted to share this in case there is someone else outside there with similar interests.

The Search For A Boyfriend

Well, in two days I am releasing my new blog...

I have thought about it for quite a while...

I am kind of wondering now if it is a good idea or not...

I have passed from happy about it, to scared, to excited, to afraid... 

and on and on... 

and so many times, that now I give a damn... 

I just gotta do it.

All this situation has, again, awaken rage on me...

I don't know why, or towards what...

I just know that I have a huge storm inside me...

A twister is taking place, and I don't know how my inner Self will look like when the storm is over.

I just want to call out and receive a hand back.

I want the hand of a lover to be the one I see...

And the lover is not here...

I am tired of reaching out with no answers...

I am bored of being publicly available and wait for something to happen...

For someone to approach...

I hate waiting lines...

I will reach out louder... regardless of what that can mean later on.

In two days I will launch a blog that clearly states that 

"I am looking for a boyfriend in Lisbon!"

Or should I say that I am looking forward to be found by a boyfriend?

It does not matter, really...
